80-year-old Cited for Bus Accident

Phyllis BuchananImagine sitting in your home, perhaps eating a meal or simply relaxing, when a bus comes charging into your house! Or, imagine sitting in a city bus, waiting to get to work or to some other appointment when a car slams into the bus, causing it to crash. No matter the situation, such an accident can potentially hurt a lot of people.

That’s what happened last Wednesday when an 80-year-old Beaumont woman crashed into a city bus. The bus driver reports that the woman slammed into the back of the bus, causing the driver to lose control and crash the bus into a house. As a result, both drivers and eight of the 13 passengers were taken to the hospital, though none of them suffered serious injuries.

After a full investigation, authorities are now citing the driver of the car after she allegedly ran a red light just before hitting a bus and causing the accident.
