Accident Causes are Many and Varied
A Conroe man had to be airlifted to the hospital after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole. According to police reports, the accident happened on Longview Street and East Davis Street at approximately 1 a.m. They state that they had found the Chevy Trailblazer on the side of the road after having left the roadway at an excessive rate of speed and slamming into a utility pole. The accident caused the power lines to drop on top of the vehicle and start a brushfire. Electric crews had to turn off the power to the pole before rescuers could assist the critically injured driver. The driver was airlifted by helicopter and is listed in critical condition. The accident managed to knock out power for approximately 500 homes in the vicinity of the crash. The power took several hours to be restored to area residents. The cause of the crash is still currently under investigation and there appears that no other vehicles were involved. Sometimes it can be difficult to sort out the cause of an accident and who or what may have been at fault. Every accident comes from a specific set of circumstances and results that must be evaluated for each case. A good attorney knows what is needed to get to the bottom of a case. They understand the law and can argue for your rights. Some of the things they look for include: Driver Negligence: Accidents are commonly caused by one or both drivers being negligent in some fashion. An attorney will use his prior experience, and can also hire an outside expert, to look into the root cause of an accident and determine liability. Product Liability: At other times, an accident may be caused by product defect. In cases such as these, car manufacturer or one of their suppliers may be held responsible for injuries caused by a defect under the law of product liability. Poorly Maintained Roads: Other liabilities might include a road that has not been properly maintained. If a road has had poor maintenance, improper construction, issues with improper or inadequate signage, inadequate lighting, or any other kind of highway defects, all of these can be a contributing factor in the cause of an accident that results in serious injuries or even death. Liabilities can be traced to a road construction company who built the road, or even to the State. If you or a loved one has been injured in a serious car accident, give our offices a call.
