Attempted Carjacking Ends In Home Crash
A domestic disturbance case escalated into a carjacking and home crash in a story reported by NBCDFW. Here’s the latest on the story.
Police were called to Sotogrande Boulevard yesterday morning when there were told about the carjacking. A man told them that his silver Dodge Journey SUV was stolen with a woman in her 20s still in the passenger seat.
The owner said that a man with a knife and a gun jumped into the backseat and threatened him and the woman. The owner attempted to get the gun away from the invader and got injured and forced out of the vehicle. It was later discovered that all three individuals knew each other and there was evidence of a domestic dispute.
Police sent out a call out to be on the lookout for the stolen vehicle. It was discovered in Fort Worth at Meadowbrook Drive and Ederville Road. Upon discovery, the driver tried fleeing but crashed the car into a home. The woman was still inside the car.
The suspect tried to flee on foot but was caught and arrested. The woman in the SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash and went to the hospital. No one in the home was hurt.
The man responsible now aces charges of aggravated kidnapping and evading. More are sure to follow if the facts of this case are correct.
