Body Of Influencer Found Dead In West Houston
The body of a young woman who was considered a social media influencer was found alongside the road in West Houston over the weekend.
Fox News reports that 26-year-old Alexis Leigh Sharkey had a large following on Instagram and was last seen on Friday, November 28th, when she left the home she shared with her husband, Tom Sharkey.
According to a statement released by the Houston Police Department, the woman’s body was found along Red Haw Lane. The Harris County Medical Examiner confirmed that the woman was Sharkey. Her family has been understandably devastated by what happened.
Investigators are uncertain what happened to her as there were no visible wounds on her body when she was discovered. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Stacey Robinault, Alexis’ mother, told Fox News reporters that she believes her daughter was murdered.
“She didn’t wind up where she was found on her own,” her mother said. “It was no accident.”
Robinault was interviewed by a local station and told reporters that she and her daughters were discussing Christmas plans on Saturday, and that was the last time they had spoken.
According to Ms. Robinault, Alexis’s husband, Tom, told her that her daughter was missing. “He said she took off,” Robinault said.
The couple were married in January of 2020 and moved to their home a short time later.
Tom Sharkey has been cooperating with Harris County Sheriff’s deputies in the hopes of learning what may have happened to his wife.
This is a developing story.
