Cypress Woman Killed in Rollover
A Cypress woman has been killed after she rolled her truck multiple times in northwest Harris County. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened on Cypress Rosehill Road near Manor Bend Street around 1:00 a.m.
Deputies say that the driver of the truck had been speeding when she lost control and left the road, flipping her pickup several times. The truck came to a stop near a home. The driver was ejected from her vehicle during the crash and died at the scene of the accident.
It is unclear if alcohol may have played a role in the crash, and the accident is currently still under investigation.
Every year, millions of people in the United States are involved in motor vehicle accidents. Out of those millions of crashes, over one third was directly related to drivers going over the posted speed limit. Driving at a high rate of speed will not only reduce the amount of reaction time that a driver has to react in avoiding an accident, but it also decreases the ability of the driver to control the vehicle. The force of impact doubles with every 10 miles per hour in speeds above 50 mph. This makes the chance of someone either being killed or seriously injured in an accident almost a certainty.
