Deadly Crash Near Lamar University
A fiery two-vehicle crash between a pickup truck and a car has resulted in three deaths and another person injured near the Lamar University campus in Beaumont on Sunday.
According to authorities, the crash happened at approximately 1:00 a.m. Police arrived on the scene to find both vehicles on fire. Officers with the Beaumont Police Department were able to put out the fire with extinguishers. Both people in the car were dead at the scene while one person was dead and another was alive but injured in the pickup truck.
The deceased have been identified through social media as Bethany Beck, 44, and Joshawa Beck 25, a mother and son. The third victim was not identified.
The injured person was transported to a hospital in Houston approximately 80 miles away
