Hit and Run Driver Sought
A pedestrian has been killed while trying to cross the street early Saturday morning.
Houston Police Department Spokesman John Cannon said in a statement that at around 6 a.m. a pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross the street in 8700 block of Bellaire. The victim, a man in his 40’s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by paramedics.
Authorities say that the driver left the scene of the fatal accident. However, debris that was left behind at the scene, including a portion of the bumper was enough for investigators to identify the vehicle as being a white Honda Accord.
Investigators are still waiting on autopsy results from Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences before releasing the name of the victim.
