Man Arrested After Crashing Allegedly Stolen Car Into Another, Three Injured
A man was arrested on Friday after he allegedly stole a vehicle and crashed it into another car on Big Spring Street according to the Houston Chronicle.
Officers were summoned to Big Spring Street and Florida Avenue in relation to a stolen vehicle call. They found the vehicle and tried to stop it in the 3200 block of Big Spring near Wadley Avenue.
The driver allegedly fled the stop and crashed into an Audi A3 containing three people, then tried to flee on foot following the accident. The people in the car suffered grievous injuries, including a fractured pelvis.
After the arrest, the driver was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest, and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Sometimes criminals do try to flee police in a vehicle. This can trigger a chase that puts all the cars in their way at risk. While it doesn’t seem that a police pursuit started from what we know, nevertheless, the actions of the alleged thief ended just the same for one unlucky family.
We hope that the family can recover fully from their injuries and pursue compensation against this driver. If the facts of this case are true as reported, they have a serious case for significant compensation.
