Man Bitten by Police Dog after Evading The Law
A man has been taken into custody after he attempted to elude police on the West side of Houston. According to Houston Police officials, a man was driving his Mitsubishi northbound on Highway 6 when he ran a red light near Westheimer. He was spotted by Houston Police, and attempted to evade officers who were in pursuit. The suspect managed to crash his SUV in a nearby neighborhood and attempted to flee on foot. After a search that lasted nearly an hour, a police dog found the suspect and bit him before the man surrendered himself to HPD officers. Houston Police Department officials speculate that the man attempted to avoid being stopped because he was intoxicated at the time. The suspect will be charged with driving while intoxicated and also with felony evasion. Driving under the influence of alcohol is never a good idea.
