Motorcyclist Killed near Steepletop
It’s a situation that gives motorcyclists nightmares. A vehicle turning in front of them and having nowhere to go. Motorcyclists can easily be killed in such an event, as what happened in today’s story from the Houston Chronicle.
It was around 6 AM on FM 1960. A gray van turned in front of a motorcycle near Steepletop. The motorcyclist collided against the passenger side of the van. Despite efforts at the hospital, the motorcyclist died. Police are now investigating to see if the driver of the van will face any charges in the incident.
Accidents like this happen every day. An inattentive driver doesn’t see a motorcycle until it is too late. Motorcycles are small and quiet compared to cars, so they can be easy to miss. But if you look before you turn, you can catch them before it is too late. Always look before turning or merging to make sure you haven’t missed a motorcycle in your path.
