Police Officer Injured on the Job

On Thursday afternoon a Houston Police Officer was injured on the job in an accident with an 18 wheeler. At approximately 3:00 p.m. a police officer with the Houston Police Department was en route, responding to a call for assistance from another officer. The responding officer was in northeastern Houston, in the 5500 block of North Wayside, when the accident occurred. Details are somewhat vague as to exactly how the incident happened; however, both the police officer and driver of the 18-wheeler were transported to a local hospital.
