On Thursday, March 19th, Houston Police officers were involved in pursuits that ended in rollover crashes, but no one was injured in either crash.
Chron.com reported on its website that during the first incident, just before midnight on Wednesday, Houston Police Officers attempted to pull over a motorist in the Third Ward near Live Oak and Francis.
The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over and led police on a chase. The pursuit ended a short distance away with the suspect’s vehicle rolling. The suspect’s vehicle came to a halt, landing in the front yards of two homes in a residential area. Residents living at the homes found the vehicle resting on the property line between both residences.
Police arrested the driver and a passenger at the scene. The driver is expected to face the charge of felony evading. Authorities had not released the identities of the driver and the passenger at the time of the report.
A second incident took place a short time later in the area near Brays Bayou and 75th Street. The suspect led police officers into Mason Park, where he attempted to drive under a bridge to elude police. The car ended up immobile and in the water instead.
Two people in the vehicle surrendered to police while a third attempted to swim down the bayou. The third suspect eventually surrendered to police officers and was taken into custody.
No further information has been released regarding either incident.
