Street Race Leaves One In Hospital

An illegal street race on the Katy Highway took a turn for the worst when a man struck the side of an eighteen wheeler with his vehicle. At approximately 11:30 pm on Saturday, two men were racing down Katy Highway when one of them apparently lost control of his vehicle. At speeds around one hundred miles per hour, one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle and impacted on the side of a semi-truck, spun and impacted again. “I felt a jerk, and I look back in the mirror and I see a car spinning around in circles on the freeway,” reports Lloyd Smith, the driver of the semi, “And then he hit again on the side of my truck.” “He was talking and conscious, it just seemed like he was a little bit shocked,” says Smith, who was uninjured.
