Student Dies on the way to Graduation
News stories have to present information impartially, but it should always be remembered that every injury and fatality leaves people in grief. An accident can happen at any time, even a fatal one.
A student in Klein Forest received good news. He was going to be able to graduate with his friends after all. He had fallen behind and worked hard after school to achieve the last credits necessary to graduate. He was traveling on his way to the ceremony when he got into a car crash. He was travelling alone per school policy for students to show up early for the occasion, and died in the crash. His family didn’t know until after the ceremony when they wondered why he didn’t walk across the stage.
A candlelight vigil is planned to remember the slain student, and officials released a statement to offer their condolences. The students will wear their graduation caps as part of the ceremony.
The news story doesn’t say whether or not the student lost control of the car or if another vehicle crashed into it. Regardless, it is a tragedy.
