Two Die in Crashes Close Apart.
According to Houston Police Department, the first accident happened in the 40000 block of Mail Route and JFK Boulevard in an auto-pedestrian accident in north Harris County at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Officers indicated that a vehicle struck a person who was walking alongside the road. The second fatal accident occurred approximately 20 minutes later in a crash on the outbound Southwest Freeway near Chimney Rock in southwest Houston. Authorities have not yet released details of the identities of the victims for either crash. Both accidents are still currently under investigation. Investigators are not yet sure if severe thunderstorms in the area may have contributed to either accident. When driving in a storm or inclement weather, it is always a good idea to give yourself extra time to get to your destination. However, it’s impossible to know the exact circumstance that will contribute to when someone may get into an accident. Whether it was the weather, careless driving or equipment failure that ultimately causes an accident to occur, that is something that investigators must sort out.
