Two DUI Accidents In The Same Spot

Two DUI accidents that occurred in the exact same spot on the same night have left one person dead and four others injured.

According to an article which appeared on the Chron.com website, the initial fatal crash happened in the early morning hours on March 25th at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies report that a Chevy pickup truck had been traveling westbound on FM 1960 failed to stop at a red light at the intersection at Aldine Westfield broadsiding a Toyota Sedan.  The force of the impact tore the sedan in half and caused the pickup truck to roll several times before landing upright and littered the roadway with debris.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while two female passengers inside the vehicle were rushed to an area hospital for treatment. They are currently listed in stable condition.

Eyewitnesses to the crash say the driver of the pickup truck exited his vehicle stumbling and slurring his speech. Authorities believe that he fled the scene after being picked up by someone else.

Just an hour later, while three wreckers were cleaning up the aftermath of the crash, a second suspected DUI plowed into the tow vehicles.  First responders were again called to the same scene and had to extricate the driver from what remained of his SUV.
