Woman Dies Saving Her Daughter’s Life
A thirty-three year old woman died while saving her daughter’s life on Monday. Colleen Segbers was leaving a drug store when another customer who mistakenly believed that she had parked her vehicle noticed that it was moving.
The driver again, mistakenly depressed the accelerator instead of the breaks, surging forward. She then swerved to avoid a pillar outside the store and struck Segbers, pinning her.
Seconds before the SUV crashed into her, Colleen Segbers who was a substitute teacher, managed to shove her daughter out of the way of the oncoming vehicle. Segbers died of her injuries at the scene. The driver of the SUV, whose name has not been released, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
