A Series of Overnight Accident Fatalities
Four people have been left dead after a series of overnight accidents The run of fatal accidents began around 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening and continued into early Friday morning.
The 9:00 p.m. accident occurred when a 72-year-old man, for an unknown reason, swerved off the road into a ditch, wrecking his vehicle. Approximately one hour later at around 10:00 p.m. a pedestrian was struck while trying to cross a street. Authorities say the 64-year-old victim was not using a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Another accident occurred at around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning when a Pathfinder crashed into a cement culvert causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle after crossing a set of train tracks. Both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The final accident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. when a 47-year-old man crashed his motorcycle after veering off the road and striking a curb.
