Bus Driver Attacked by Students on Bus during Fight

A bus attendant has been injured while attempting to break up a fight on a Houston Independent School District bus early Thursday. According to a spokesman for the school district, the incident happened on a bus carrying special needs students to Cullen Middle School. The attendant suffered minor injuries when a student pulled out a steak knife on another student. HISD Police said two students, ages 13 and 15, were involved in the fight The younger student allegedly pulled out a steak knife to defend himself. The female bus attendant stepped in to break up the altercation and suffered injuries. The attendant, whose name has not been released, was taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment. Houston Police said in a statement that they would review security camera video on-board the bus before charges are made.
