Car Fire Claims Life Of Houston Man
Car fires are rare, but when they happen, they can turn deadly quick. A man succumbed to a car fire last night according to a report from ABC 13.
A car lost control early this morning in the 3400 block of Saratoga Drive near TC Jester. The police report says that the driver crashed violently into a tree and burst into flames. The impact was so rough that police aren’t sure if it was the tree impact or the car fire that caused the driver’s death.
Police hope that surveillance video might have captured the crash, and are also working to identify the victim. Our condolences go out to the victim’s family.
The crashed happened very late at night and there’s no telling what the cause might have been for the car to go off the road. If you must drive late at night, follow these safety tips to get home safely:
- Never drive while drunk, ever.
- Driving while fatigued can be just as dangerous as driving drunk. Try to avoid it if you can.
- Drive at a slower speed. Animals can be more active at night, and you can’t see them on the road at a distance.
- Be mindful to use your lights properly so other drivers can know what you plan to do.
