Child Flung from Overturned Vehicle

Credit: Patrick FellerA man and a young girl have been taken to the hospital after the SUV they were in overturned, landing on the banks of Hunting Bayou on Wednesday afternoon. According to Houston police reports, the man had been driving his pickup truck accompanied by the child. Just before 1:00 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck became airborne for about 20 yards, and then landed upside down on the banks of the bayou in the 3400 block of Cavalcade. The man and the little girl, who was between the ages of two and four years old, were both ejected from the vehicle during the accident. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released. Whenever a child is riding in a motor vehicle, they should be in a proper child restraint.
