Child Injured by Smoke Inhalation
A two alarm fire has displaced as many as 30 people Saturday evening after the blaze damaged nine units located in southwest Houston. According to the Houston Fire Department, firefighters responded to the fire at the Westpark Apartments, located at the 6100 block of the Southwest Freeway near Westpark Drive, at just after 6:00 p.m. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in approximately one hour. One child was injured and transported by ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation. The child’s identity and current condition have not been released. A fire can be both terrifying and devastating.
