DUI Suspect Faces Manslaughter Charges

One man is dead after being ejected from his vehicle while another is facing manslaughter charges in a two vehicle accident according to Houston Police. A Houston Police Department spokesperson said in statement that a green Chevrolet Suburban heading southbound on North Gessner Drive, ran a red light at the intersection with Highway 290 and collided with a red Cadillac that was turning onto the feeder road. The male driver of the Cadillac was ejected from his car and died at the scene of the accident. The male driver of the Suburban fled the scene of the accident on foot. However, the driver of a wrecker happened to see the driver of the Suburban hiding in some bushes several blocks away. The wrecker driver was able to detain the suspect driver until police arrived. Police said the suspect driver appeared to be intoxicated. The driver of the Suburban faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
