Fatal Road Rage Incident in Pasadena Means Big Trouble for Driver

Tony FischerRoad rage is being blamed in an incident in Pasadena that has left one man dead on Wednesday night. According to authorities, it all began at a red light on the Beltway feeder road when two men in a pickup were harassing another driver. One of the men in the truck broke out the other driver’s side window. The victim followed the truck, chasing the suspects to a parking lot. One of the suspects in the truck got out and punched the victim through the broken window. As one suspect started to drive away, his friend jumped in his truck bed. He fell out, hit his head on the pavement and died. The victim was bruised in the incident, but is expected to fully recover. However, the driver of the black truck left his dead friend behind and drove off. Authorities continue to search for the suspect. In today’s stress-filled world, cases of road rage are on the increase on our roadways. When drivers act out their anger and aggression behind the wheel, tragedy can result. You can prevent an on-the-road incident of road rage by being as courteous as possible behind the wheel. Some good suggestions are: Don’t  Cut Off Another Driver – Make sure that you have plenty of room before pulling out onto busy roadways. If you yourself are cut off, give the other driver room and let it go. Don’t Drive In the Left Lane Unless You are Keeping Up With the Flow of Traffic. Don’t Tailgate – One of the most annoying behaviors among drivers is when they feel that they are being followed too closely. Be sure to allow at least two car lengths or a two second space between your car and the one in front of you. Don’t Make Gestures – Almost nothing makes another driver angrier than an obscene gesture. Keep your hands on the wheel. Don’t Engage – One angry driver can’t start a fight unless another driver is willing to join in. Get help – If you believe another driver is trying to start a fight, get help. Use your cellphone to call the police or get to a place where authorities can be called. If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident involving road rage, give our offices a call.
