Man Dies After Being Pinned Under A Car In Multi-Car Crash
When you were a child, did you line dominos up in creative ways, only to watch how a chain reaction caused one to fall after the next? Such a simple game teaches the concept of cause and effect and allows children (and some adults) to express their creativity. But that same concept of a chain reaction can often lead to great tragedy. In fact, we usually think of a chain reaction as a bad thing, a series of causes and effects that lead to greater and greater problems.
On the road, a chain reaction crash happens when one accident leads to another collision, which might lead to still another crash.
This is what happened late Wednesday night in northeast Harris County, according to this report from KHOU Channel 11. It started with a minor accident between a Cadillac and a Honda. Both vehicles stopped, and, apparently, the drivers were unharmed.
But when the driver of the Cadillac got out of his vehicle, he was then hit by a third vehicle, a Mercedes. This left him pinned under the car. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
In this case, the chain reaction started with a relatively innocuous accident, a so-called fender-bender. But it ended with a person dead and three vehicles involved.
