Motorcyclist Hits Car while Speeding out of a Parking Lot

A motorcyclist has been sent to the hospital after crashing into another vehicle in northwest Harris County Wednesday night. According to witnesses, at around 5:40 p.m. a motorcyclist on a sport bike pulled out of a Wal-Mart parking lot, turning eastbound on Little York. The biker apparently punched the throttle on the motorcycle, accelerating at a very high speed. A woman was pulling off of Plantation Crest and began crossing Little York, near the 19800 block at the same time. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies say that the motorcyclist impacted with the driver’s side door of the woman’s vehicle and was ejected off of the motorcycle. The female driver was transported to Methodist Hospital with an injured arm and is in stable condition. The motorcyclist was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. Motorcycles are a popular mode of transportation. Be sure to give yourself at least a two-second stopping distance between your motorcycle and any vehicle or object that is front of you. Increase that distance if you are on an open road, highway or Interstate.
