Never Run From a Stop
A police chase in the early morning hours on Monday through The Heights turned into a manhunt. According to the Houston Police Department, at approximately 2:00 a.m. a Pct. 1 constable attempted to pull over a pickup truck that was heading southbound on North Durham. Initially the driver of the truck refused to pull over, but finally did come to a stop at 26th Street, where the passenger who was also in the truck jumped out of the vehicle and took off on foot. The constable that initially sought to stop the truck was later joined by other HPD officers. Police searched for the passenger for about 30 minutes, but officers were unable to locate him. The driver, however, was taken into custody. The charges against him have not been released. When people run from traffic stops, it can start a high speed chase.
