Plane Crashes into Hangar after Wing Lifts Off

A malfunction that led to a crash of a small aircraft at Sport Flyers Airport leaves one person injured early on Monday. The accident occurred just after 11 a.m. when Clifford Roberson experienced problems as he took off the runway at Sport Flyers Airport Witnesses report that as Roberson was taking off from the runway, the right wing of the plane lifted off, causing him to crash into a nearby hangar. Life Flight was called to the scene of the accident after both ambulances and Texas State Troopers responded to the emergency. The pilot was flown to the hospital. He was alert and talking to emergency responders after the crash. He is currently being treated for a broken leg and chest trauma that were caused by the plane’s seatbelt. No other injuries have been reported in connection with the aircraft.
