Speeding Woman Dies on the Scene

Early Friday evening in the Heights, just after 7:30 PM a woman was driving eastbound on I-10.  According to witnesses, the woman was driving in excess of the speed limit and weaving in and around other vehicles on the roadway near the intersection of the Katy Freeway and Washington Avenue.  Preliminary reports state that somehow the woman lost track of her vehicle and crossed three lanes of traffic.  Her vehicle hit the partition, overturning and colliding with a concrete pillar, however she managed to avoid hitting any other vehicle.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.
