Teen Speeds over 100 MPH
A 19 year-old driver had to be rescued after crashing his car into an embankment on Fallbrook near Jones Road early Thursday morning around 9:30 a.m.. According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the young man was travelling westbound at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour and hit several curbs and a median. The driver then slammed into a box truck which caused him to go off an embankment, landing on a tree and narrowly missing going into a nearby retention pond. When the driver was rescued and asked what happened, he said that he didn’t remember, having blacked out shortly after he started rolling. According to Harris County deputies, the teen driver was transported by Life Flight to Ben Taub Hospital, undergoing surgery after the accident. Fortunately no one else was hurt in the accident. According to Harris County deputies, drugs and alcohol played no part in the crash however the teen faces several citations after the accident.
