Teen Victim of Hit and Run near Cypresswood

It’s bad enough when you find yourself in an accident. It can be an absolute nightmare for anyone who is a parent to have your child be involved in an accident. That is what happened to one teen who was the victim of a hit and run driver late Monday.

the auto-pedestrian hit and run accident happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. in north Harris County on Treaschwig near Cypresswood.

Deputies responded to the call and found a teenage male had been struck by a vehicle. The driver in the incident had fled the scene.

Authorities say that the teen whose identity has not been released was transported by Life Flight with critical injuries to an area hospital.

The accident is still under investigation and authorities have not released further details.

It’s almost incomprehensible to think that anyone would knowingly hit a person with their vehicle and then drive away without at least trying to find out whether that person is alright and then stay there until help arrives. The law is clear that anyone who hits another vehicle in an accident must stay at the scene until the authorities arrive. They are also required to stay there until they are told they can leave by a law enforcement officer.
