Tow Truck Drivers Catch Hit-and-Run Driver

Two tow truck drivers have turned into heroes after their courageous rescue and their help in the apprehension of a hit and run suspect. One of the two drivers, Ariel Parra having witnessed a driver t-bone a car that was carrying a mother and her two small children, affirmed that the victims were alright. According to Parra, who has worked for Precise Towing for 15 years, the driver ran a light and in turn caused the crash with the other vehicle. “Me and Brian just jumped out and made sure she was OK,” said Parra. “I couldn’t believe it. There was kids, the lady was in shock. She didn’t know what was happening. He took off like he didn’t care about anything. ” After the collision, the hit-and-run driver sped away down Fondren near Bellaire. Another wrecker saw the driver take off and followed the suspect. The suspect pulled over and ran on foot in an attempt to escape. The Houston Police Department captured the suspect on Moonmist Drive. He was out of breath and had to be given oxygen at the scene. The woman and children along with the suspect were all taken to area hospitals. Good Samaritan, Parra says that incidents such as this make him reflective. “It makes me upset. Why? You have family. You wouldn’t hurt them and take off,” Parra said. “This type of job makes me think about life because every day it’s different. You don’t know what you’re going to run into, slow down a little bit.” Police are trying to determine the cause of the accident. No matter what the cause of the accident, the man should have stopped his vehicle after hitting another motorist.
