Two Strangers Save Man From Burning Wreck On Highway 249

As a society, we like to think that we look out for one another. It can be reassuring to know that if we find ourselves in trouble, if others are around, they will reach out to help. For one man who found himself in the victim in a fiery crash, that help came in the form of two perfect strangers who lent a hand to save his life.

KHOU in Houston reports that on the night of Tuesday, September 3rd, a man in his 60’s was involved in a crash on Highway 249 near Antoine. He had been heading southbound on 249 when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole. The impact sent the car back into the intersection and caught fire, the driver was trapped inside.

Two other men who happened to be in the area witnessed the crash. Without a moment’s hesitation, hey both jumped out of their vehicle and came to help pull the accident victim away from the burning car.

The man suffered minor burns and bruises, but he is still alive. His two rescuers, one of whom is a pastor in north Houston were very humble about the incident saying that if their loved one had been in a similar situation, they believe others would have done the same.

Harris County Sheriff’s Department deputies at the scene said in a statement that there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. They are uncertain what caused the accident and it is still currently under investigation.
