Unlucky Motorist Gets Hit by Car Twice
No one would think that a fender bender could lead to someone being seriously hurt. However, that is what happened after a woman who was in a minor accident in central Houston got out of her car and was struck by another passing vehicle.
According to the Houston Police Department, the woman whose name has not yet been released had gotten out of her car to talk to the other driver that happened in the southbound lanes of I-45 and main when she was struck by a black Buick Regal at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The driver of the Buick Regal said he did not see the woman until it was too late to avoid an accident.
The woman was transported from the scene to Ben Taub in serious condition and doctors say it is possible that she could lose both legs as the result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators say no one else was injured and impairment does not appear to have been involved in either accident.
This woman did what any good driver would do after even a minor accident. Stopping to check on others even after a minor accident is required by law. No one ever expects to get hurt in trying to do the right thing.
