Woman Ran Over by her Own Car

A woman who was involved in an accident was hit and killed by another driver after she left her wrecked vehicle on the North Loop Freeway. Witnesses to the accident that happened around 2:20 a.m. say that that the woman had been traveling westbound on loop 610 when she lost control and slammed into a barricade. She then got out of the car and stepped into the freeway. In spite of other drivers attempting convince the woman that it was too dangerous for her to be out on the busy highway, a Chevy Impala hit the disabled vehicle into the woman, causing her to be run over by her own car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Houston Police Department, the accident is still under investigation. Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol played any role in the accident.
