A Mother And Child Died in An Accident In Northeast Houston

Most people avoid being in a car accident by any means necessary; however, even the safest driver is at risk of being in an accident and losing their life. Sadly, the driver and passenger in a vehicle lost their lives in a sudden accident recently.

A two-vehicle crash between a semi tractor-trailer rig and a passenger vehicle in northeast Houston has taken the life of a woman and a three 3-year-old boy last Wednesday.

According to the story appearing on the Click2Houston website, that on Wednesday, June 10th, at approximately 12:00 p.m. the driver of a Buick Park Avenue blew through a red light at the intersection of Lee Road and Sam Houston Parkway East.  The 18-wheeler then struck the Buick.  The force of the impact sent the Buick into another car that was parked in front of a gas station and convenience store.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene of the crash and had to extricate the occupants of the vehicle. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.  A 25-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car along with a three-year-old boy were pronounced dead shortly after they arrived at the trauma center.

Authorities have not released the identities or the relationship of the victims.

The driver of the Buick was also taken to the hospital for treatment with unspecified injuries. They are expected to be ok.

The accident is currently under investigation.  So far, no charges have been filed in connection to the fatal crash.
