Deputy Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash
No one can predict where or when an accident can occur. No matter where you are, or what time of day, there is always the potential for something to go wrong; especially on busy roadways. Any time someone sets out on their daily commute to their workplace, or they happen to be heading home, or even when they are out running errands, an accident can happen in the blink of an eye.
That seems to be what happened to a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was left injured on Friday morning. According to a story that appeared on the Chron.com website the single-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Tidwell Road and Beltway 8 at approximately 7:30 a.m.
According to Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Tibben Lewis, the deputy was transported via ambulance to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and was reported to have been alert during the ambulance ride.
The identity of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy has not been released. Investigators have not said what direction or what street the Deputy had been traveling on at the time of the crash. Authorities have also not released any further information as to what may have caused the accident.
Why did the vehicle crash? It could have been a mechanical failure, fatigue, or many other reasons. We hope that the deputy pulls through and that the crash is thoroughly investigated so that the risks can be reduced in the future for those who serve.
