A 49-year-old Galveston man has died in a construction accident after being trapped under some dirt compacting machinery late Monday. Investigators say the man was driving the compactor when the equipment overturned. The victim, who died at a hospital, was working on a project to widen League City Parkway. League City police did not immediately release the name of the victim pending a coroner’s investigation.
