Elderly Woman Runs Over Homeless Person Sleeping in the Street
In some personal injury accident cases, it can be unclear as to what ultimately caused it. That may be the case of a recent accident that was recently reported on the Chron.com website. The accident, which occurred on Friday afternoon, has left one person in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon, the crash took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. when an 81-year-old ran over a homeless man in a parking lot at 8800 Richmond Avenue in Woodlake. The elderly woman claimed that she did not see him where he was sleeping in the lot on the pavement.
Emergency crews had to extract the man from beneath the woman’s Cadillac with a tow truck. He was then transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Cannon said that the man was not carrying any identification on him at the time of the accident.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, also suffered from a medical episode during the incident. She was transported to an area hospital for observation. No further details on the woman’s current condition have been released.
