Fatal Accident at a Red Light
A woman has been killed after running a red light in the West Houston area Thursday night. The accident happened at the intersection of Rogerdale and Westheimer. Investigators say the woman’s SUV was clipped by another SUV when she ran a red light, causing her vehicle to flip over.
Investigators say that the driver of the second vehicle had initially left the scene, however, they did eventually return and call 911 after the crash. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, the woman was pronounced dead.
Houston police authorities have not stated whether the other driver will be charged for leaving the scene of the accident. Even though the other vehicle ran a red light, the driver of the second vehicle may face consequences of their own. Failure to stop after being involved in a crash can be a serious matter.
