Harris County Accident Kills Two
An accident at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Antoine in northwest Harris County has taken the life of two people.
According to authorities, the accident occurred when an 18-wheeler ran a red light and struck a vehicle that was in the intersection at the time. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies said that roof of the smaller vehicle was crushed while front end of the 18-wheeler was smashed and its cargo spilled in a nearby field.
Both the driver of the semi-truck and the driver of the car were killed. Another person and a child were both taken to an area hospital. The adult is currently listed in critical condition while the child is believed to be OK, deputies said in a statement.
It may take a while before investigators can piece together what actually happened in this tragic accident. Both drivers may be found to be at least partially at fault due to drinking and driving.
