According to prosecutors, the accused has been identified as is Dante Jerel Moore, 27.   Moore, along with a friend had been allegedly shoplifting at a Target in Meyerland.  The two were chased from the store by loss prevention officers.

The loss prevention officers spotted Officer Anthony Zarate, 52, in the parking lot and told them about Moore and his accomplice.

Zarate, a motorcycle officer with the Bellaire Police Department pulled up behind the two men before they pulled out of the parking lot.  Zarate dismounted his motor and approached them on foot and the men pulled away.  Officer Zarate then gave pursuit through Bellaire.
