Pedestrian Struck and Killed in the Early Morning
It doesn’t matter what mode of transportation you take, whether you choose to go by car, or bus, bicycle or your own two feet, an accident can happen at any time.
One woman, a pedestrian, was killed early Sunday morning by a driver in northeast Houston while attempting to cross Homestead near Parker at approximately 2:30 a.m.
The driver fled the scene of the crash,
The victim was transported to an area hospital where she later died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Her identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
The type of car driven by the suspect is unknown. The Houston Police Department’s accident division is seeking help from the public in order to identify the driver.
In the state of Texas, it is required by law that a driver who gets into an accident where there are injuries or a fatality stay at the scene of the accident. It seems unthinkable that anyone would be so callous as to hit someone and drive away. When the person is caught they will face both criminal and civil charges along with the fines and jail time that they will also be facing.
