Tow Truck Accident Leaves Teen In Critical Condition

A 16-year-old girl has been left in critical condition after an accident involving her vehicle and a tow truck that happened in North Houston on Sunday, April 29th.

According to an article appearing on the Chron.com website, the teen whose name has not been released by authorities. The accident happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Brenda Lane and FM 1486.

Investigators say that the teen pulled out from Brenda Lane onto FM 1486 when she was broadsided on the driver-side of the vehicle by a tow truck owned by Mastowing of Houston. The force of impact of the wrecker hitting the vehicle caused significant damage to both the car and the tow truck.

State Patrol was on the scene and emergency rescue crews were able to extricate the girl from the wrecked vehicle. She was rushed to an area hospital for treatment and is currently said to be in critical condition. No word has been released on the identity or condition of the driver of the tow truck.  The debris and wreckage were cleared from the scene and the roadway re-opened at approximately 11:00 p.m.

The accident is still currently under investigation by DPS investigators. No charges have been filed so far in the case.
