A Crime Filled Night Led To One Man Dead And A Passenger Stuck In A Vehicle

One person has died, and another was critically injured after a series of crashes that took place in Houston on Saturday night.

According to the report appearing on the Chron.com website, on Saturday, March 28th, a motorcyclist was killed.  Another motorist in a separate incident had to be extricated from his vehicle.

Sgt. Dashana Cheek- McNeal with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that deputies responded to a crash that happened at the intersection of FM 2100 and Krenek Road in Crosby at approximately 10:50 p.m. The accident involved a Honda Accord that had been rear-ended and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Investigators say that the driver of the Honda Accord had pulled out into the intersection when it was struck by the motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed.

The force of impact with the passenger vehicle caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from his bike and land on the pavement. Authorities say that he died at the scene of the crash.

According to Sgt. Cheek-McNeal, both vehicles were returning from parties. In light of the current restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus, both gatherings were considered non-essential visits.  Cheek-McNeal advised motorists and residents to stay inside rather than being on the roadways to keep themselves and others safe.

Earlier that same evening, the Houston Police Dispatch Unit received a call in Alief regarding a Ford Mustang that had allegedly struck three parked vehicles in the 14400 block of Laterna Lane.

Houston Police Officers arrived at the scene to find the male driver attempting to run away after ripping the license plate off the vehicles.  A passenger inside the car was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported via Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

A separate incident reported in Precinct of Montgomery County involved Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies pursuing a motorist into Harris County along U.S. Highway 59. The driver crashed his vehicle at an intersection of  Mooney Road just off the highway.

The suspect driver was arrested at the scene. No further information about the identity of the driver or the circumstances surrounding the incident has been released.
