Debris From Truck Causes Six Car Crash

Trucks are great for hauling things, but if you don’t tie down your roads correctly you’ll put other drivers at risk. That’s what happened in a huge crash that happened last Monday.

Debris that fell out of the back of a pickup truck on the North Freeway. Part of the debris included an air conditioning unit that fell into the fast lane, causing a multi-car crash.

The Houston Chronicle reported on their website that the crash happened Monday night at approximately 11:00 p.m. near Tidwell in the 3500 block of the Northbound lanes of Interstate 45.

Houston Police Department said in a statement that in an attempt to avoid the debris on the road, one of the vehicles involved in the crash swerved and struck a police captain’s cruiser. A third car slammed on its brakes causing a chain reaction crash which involved an additional three vehicles.

Eyewitnesses say that the truck that had been hauling the air conditioner and other debris did not stop.

One woman was transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

So far, no charges have been filed, and the driver of the pickup truck has not yet been found. No further information has been released about the case.
