One Dead And Two Injured In Rear-End Crash On Beltway 8 South
One woman is dead and two other people have been injured because of a high-speed rear-end crash that occurred on Beltway 8 South last week, according to a report from KHOU-11.
The woman was driving a black Jeep Patriot when she rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck. It appears that she was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident happened. As a result of the crash, the Jeep rolled over several times. The woman that had been driving the Jeep was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. She died from her injuries.
There was a second person in the Patriot, in the passenger seat. This person had to be cut from the vehicle by emergency response personnel. Afterward, the passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the dodge was also injured by the crash, though not to the same extent. That said, the driver of the pickup also had to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
As a side-effect of the crash, the Beltway had to be shut down for about an hour as the crash was investigated and the wreckage from both vehicles was removed from the roadway, which was near Hillcroft.
