Trooper Dragged At Traffic Stop

No one wants to see flashing lights in their rear view mirror. Most people know that they need to pull over and stay in place until released by the law enforcement officers that pulled them over.

In a story reported on the Chron.com website, one man, however, was pulled over by a Texas State trooper on Interstate 45 attempted to flee as the state trooper approached his vehicle. The trooper was stuck on the Infiniti and dragged for a couple of feet. The trooper managed to free himself and authorities say that he is expected to be ok.

In a statement, DPS Sgt. Erik Burse said that the man drove away in a black Infiniti. State Troopers launched a search and later found the suspect vehicle in an apartment complex located within the 100 block of Vision Park of Shenandoah.

Authorities arrested the man at approximately 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning. The suspect has been identified as Russell Patrick Richards, 35. Richards was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest and other related charges.

No further information has been released about the case.
