Woman Hit By Vehicle While Exiting Bus
Millions of people across the country use buses as a form of transportation. Riding the bus remains one of the most economical, efficient and safe forms of transportation available. Accidents can happen, city streets can be busy and even dangerous at times, causing injuries to passengers. On average 135 people a year are thought to die from bus accidents every year so being careful is necessary.
In one such incident, a woman was hurt as she was getting off the bus in North Houston on the morning of Wednesday, March 6th. The Houston Chronicle reported on its website that the woman was struck by a car just as she was getting off the METRO bus.
A spokesperson for METRO said that the accident happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. within the 7400 block of Fulton while she was crossing in front of the bus she was hit by another vehicle. The woman, whose name has not been released by authorities, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital to be treated for injuries she sustained in the crash. No word has been given about the nature and extent of her injuries or her current condition.
Authorities have said that there was no one else was injured in the accident.
