In both 2007 and 2008, this figure went over 5,000 fatalities due to motorcycle accidents. Motorcycles are smaller and lighter than cars. Motorcycle riders are far more exposed to the elements and the risks of a road and suffer far greater injuries or even fatalities than those in passenger vehicles whenever they get into an accident.
Motorcyclists are generally safe drivers and m any take extra precautions in order to stay safe such as wearing a helmet and other protective gear and always checking their vehicle over for safety issues before setting out on the road.
